Starting a travel blog with the intention of monetizing it is a challenging way of making a living.  Not many are successfully accomplishing it.  David Lee, of GoBackingpacking.com, Travel Blog Success, and Medellin Living is one of those select few.

When I decided to really go for it and try to make this travel writing thing work, I was always on the lookout for success stories and people who are doing it right now.  When I first came across Travel Blog Success, I recognized David’s name from the BootsnAll forums from when I was very active in planning our RTW trip.

The course has between 18 and 27 lessons (depending on your level of membership).  It starts at the very beginning, with lessons on choosing a domain name and server, and advances all the way up with lessons on how to make money and grow your business, with everything in between.  The lessons are written very well and straightforward, and David has an easy way of explaining the technical jargon that sometimes confuses beginners.  Even if you aren’t a beginner, there is a lot of great information in all the lessons, and he keeps up with the constantly changing times by adapting the lessons and course.  Each lesson is accompanied by further resources, plus there are extremely helpful forums, expert audio interviews, coaching calls, and a general wealth of knowledge.
