World Travel for Couples is Expanding!
Since the start of this website back in August, I have been focusing on building up the country and city guides along with trying to give my readers the best tips and advice for traveling the world on a budget with whoever your traveling partner is. The focus thus far has been on traveling around South America since that was the first destination of our RTW trip.
The site has continued to grow, with more and more readers perusing World Travel for Couples as the months go by. As most of you know (if you’re new here, be sure to check out the About pages), Megan and I took a RTW trip from October 2008-October 2009. The places we visited and the experiences we had became the base for this site.
Where the site has been

I’ve written about all the places we visited the first 4.5 months of our trip: Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile. This week will see several pages and posts about Pucon and hiking a volcano in Chile, but then you’re going to start to see some variation.
There’s only one more country up from our South American adventures, which is our favorite of the entire trip, Colombia!
I’ve had a pretty specific plan and map for how I wanted this site to end up, and I have to say, nearly 6 months into it, I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out. But just as I don’t want the focus solely to be on couples travel (I have love for the solo traveler as well), I also don’t want this site dedicated only to South America.
Where it’s going
India: There's no place on Earth like it
So I’m going to stray off the path a bit. Don’t worry, you’re still going to get a heavy dose of top notch country and city guides for every destination we’ve ever been. But instead of just going chronologically through the rest of our trip, I’m going to start focusing on regions other than South America.
Starting next week, you’re going to start seeing posts and regional guides for New Zealand, SE Asia, the United States, and India. Then we’ll get into country and city guides for those regions- including the north and south islands of New Zealand, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and states and cities in India. There will be plenty of Colombia mixed in as well as I reminisce about our favorite place on Earth, and by April/May you’ll be getting hit with a heavy dose of Europe.
New Feature: RTW Travel Tip Tuesday
If that isn’t enough, starting tomorrow I’m introducing a weekly series (which will always be posted on Tuesdays) that will focus on long term, RTW travel. The focus will be on couples travel, as this is World Travel for Couples, but as always, there will be plenty of great information for any travel lover.
